Winnipeg knitters: when I was at the library checking out Stitch & Bitch Nation, a woman stoped me, and asked if I had heard about a big knitting thing coming up at the Forks. She asked if I knew anything about it (she had seen a poster at McNally Robinson). I said I hadn't, but that I'd look into it.

Has anyone heard anything about it? I'm tempted to go to McNally RObinson tomorrow and look for a poster.

In other news, I'm exhausted. I've made progress on my scarf (but I've done something weird with the stitches, ewither dropped one or added one- I need to figure it out). Have changed colours successfully twice, and am feeling good about it. Kinda wish I was using better quality yarn, but I figure I'm a Winnipegger and cheap, so I may as well use the Red Heart stuff.

So, next S&B next Wednesday here again? Starting at 5, but you can show up any time afterwards. Maybe next time if we all chip in some cash we can order some Thai or Chinese. Mmm.

In other, other news, I've started reading Circle of Magic: Daja's Book. They're so bad, but I just can't stop myself. I also picked up a few Peter S. Beagle books; I figure I loved The Last Unicorn to pieces, so maybe this will have the same tone that I loved.

I need to register for classes tomorrow. Apparently it's the last open day. Ooops. And I wish we would have a cracking good rainstorm instead of this on and off stuff.

ETA: Forgot the big reason why I updated in the first place: for others interested in doing Harry Potter scarves, there's [livejournal.com profile] hp_knitting.

I'm heading to McNally tomorrow, so I'll keep an eye out for knitting poster stuff. (But I'm heading to the lake, so I won't be able to let you know anything till next week.)

I'll be late for the S&B since I'm done work at 5, but I'll be there!

I have the Knit Out info!

Aug 21 (10-4) at the Forks. It's being held near the river between the Market and the Johnston Terminal. (Just wander around by the river and I'm sure you'll find it)

Wish I could go, but I have to work. :(

Yeah, next wednesday works for me. And Chinese or Thai food is good. If you ever want to borrow my Stitch & Bitch book, I can lend it to you. I like the patterns in it better than in Stitch & Bitch Nation.

Correction: I actually have the Stitch and Bitch book, not Stitch and Bitch: Nation one.

I think after my scarf I'm going to try that alien illusion one for Stuart.

Ooh, yeah, that one is pretty cool. I thought of Jen when I saw it. It's a pattern that you could transport to something else pretty easily too, I think.

I think so, yeah.

I'm worried that even though it's aliens, it may be a bit too girly for Stuart. Hmm.

Knowing him, I'll do a scarf in either navy blue/black and grey. I'll try to figure out a different pattern than aliens too. Maybe skull and crossbones.

Wednesday has now been reserved for me actually completing more than two rows, and no beast of hell will come between me and this goal. *determined*
