Winnipeg knitters: when I was at the library checking out Stitch & Bitch Nation, a woman stoped me, and asked if I had heard about a big knitting thing coming up at the Forks. She asked if I knew anything about it (she had seen a poster at McNally Robinson). I said I hadn't, but that I'd look into it.

Has anyone heard anything about it? I'm tempted to go to McNally RObinson tomorrow and look for a poster.

In other news, I'm exhausted. I've made progress on my scarf (but I've done something weird with the stitches, ewither dropped one or added one- I need to figure it out). Have changed colours successfully twice, and am feeling good about it. Kinda wish I was using better quality yarn, but I figure I'm a Winnipegger and cheap, so I may as well use the Red Heart stuff.

So, next S&B next Wednesday here again? Starting at 5, but you can show up any time afterwards. Maybe next time if we all chip in some cash we can order some Thai or Chinese. Mmm.

In other, other news, I've started reading Circle of Magic: Daja's Book. They're so bad, but I just can't stop myself. I also picked up a few Peter S. Beagle books; I figure I loved The Last Unicorn to pieces, so maybe this will have the same tone that I loved.

I need to register for classes tomorrow. Apparently it's the last open day. Ooops. And I wish we would have a cracking good rainstorm instead of this on and off stuff.

ETA: Forgot the big reason why I updated in the first place: for others interested in doing Harry Potter scarves, there's [livejournal.com profile] hp_knitting.

Knowing him, I'll do a scarf in either navy blue/black and grey. I'll try to figure out a different pattern than aliens too. Maybe skull and crossbones.
