Went Fringing with [livejournal.com profile] zanzibar_mcbean this afternoon, then hung out at home with a massive migraine. Began to feel better, then went out with [livejournal.com profile] coleman_genie for food. We ate chips and discussed future knitting projects. Began to work on new way of casting on, until Ir ealized it was 10:45, and I wouldn't be able to remember anything anyway. Will work on it this weekend (possibly starting the knitting projects then too.)

I finished reading Wolf-Speaker, and will have to wait until Thursday(at the earliest) to begin reading the next book in the series. I was despairing, until I realized that I still have Excalibur to read. Excellent.

No society that feeds its children on tales of successful violence can expect them not to believe that violence in the end is rewarded. -Margaret Mead, anthropologist (1901-1978)

Stolen from [livejournal.com profile] trollprincess: List ten movie soundtracks you love and tell why. )

Neil Gaiman will be in Minneapolis, signing copies of Anansi Boys, the day after my birthday. I think that I should be there.

I'm having trouble typing, because my arm is still sore from yesterday. Needless to say, transcribing didn't go so well today.

Also, am I the only one slightly freaked out that The Weakerthans are on the Wedding Crashers soundtrack? I mean, yay for them and all, but still. Dude?

Least favourite Novillero performance, although there's a cute bit at the end of Aim For the Holes In Their Lives. It just seems very quiet, like Rod's voice is muffled or too far away. It does pick up at Habit Over Heart, and continues on a high through the end.

Have spent the morning editing and teasing [livejournal.com profile] andrealyn with Winnipeg music. I shall soon put together the ultimate Winnipeg music playlist- any suggestions from the people who actually know different Winnipeg groups?

ETA: [livejournal.com profile] pyroclasticgrub, it's not a big deal, but mom was asking if you still had her Wailin' Jennys CDs.

So who all was at the concert last night? [livejournal.com profile] queensugar was there (why do I keep missing you?), and I know my girls were there... anyone else?

Novillero covering Ceremony by Joy Division
The Hypothesist
Morally Deficient Business
Habit Over Heart
Gaining Gound- Losing Sight

My cousin is coming over to fool around with my computer. I am not impressed.

Continuing on in the theme of MusicWhore day, my two fantasy covers would be JC Chasez singing "Satisfaction"(or really, almost anything by the Rolling Stones), and Sheryl Crow covering anything by Blue Rodeo.

I just tipped over my fruit cup. Damn.

gacked from [livejournal.com profile] michellek:

Okay everyone, I need new music. So when you read this, I want you to take the song that is playing on your playlist at this very moment and upload it to YSI. (If nothing is playing upload the last song played) Post the link in the comments. Once you do that, post the meme in your journal and I will reciprocate quite gladly. Let us declare this MusicWhore day.

I linked her up with The Chapin Sisters- Toxic. Currently, I'm loving on Novillero- Let's Pull Over Here

Watched Desperate Housewives. Was intrigued. Have read TWoP recaps of the first five episodes. Baked scones, had a possible allergic reaction while baking (ithcy and red-splotched hands). Yucky scones- will probably end up tossing them.

Talked to mom. Felt lonely. And I'm staying up really late for some reason.

I really should try to get some sleep.

This is just a gorgeous piece of music.

I should be doing stuff. I'm thinking a nice long bike ride, but it's looking pretty wet outside. Maybe I'll make some tea and curl up with Pratchett for a while.

[livejournal.com profile] rosie_riviter, how's the painting going? If you're not doing anything later, call me and maybe come over for tea and chatting.

OMG, we're turning into our moms. Spooky.

Am thinking of having a Partylite party here on Friday. Or at least, an open house. I'll set things up, but no presentations unless anyone wants to hear anything specific.

Holy shit. Novillero was fucking amazing. That had to be one of my favourite concert experiences, ever.(The Paperbacks were quite good as well, and Chords of Canada were... meh.)
