I went out with mom for dinner and browsing around the mall this evening because I'm at the point where I needed to get the hell out of the house, and man. Almost 3 hours and I was so exhausted by the end I was swaying on my feet. I may not be as recovered as I had previously thought (and I'm worrying about my endurance for the Novillero show Friday. DAMN.)

Some things though: I found a really cute pair of black high heels (but they were really cheap and probably wouldn't last very long, so DILEMMA: it's not like I'd be wearing them a lot anyway, but shouldn't I look for a good quality pair? IDK! Besides, when do I ever wear high heels? There was that once to [livejournal.com profile] sutton_who's wedding, and those were like kitten heels or whatever.) Also, the only purse I found that I liked was far too expensive for being so cheaply made (found in Claire's) again, DILEMMA.

New Fall Knitty came out today, and THANKFULLY it contains a scarf pattern that will be a Christmas gift (assuming I can get it done in time): Waves of Grain, for my aunt (who, you know. lives and works on a farm and stuff.) I think she'll enjoy it. There is also Versatility a stole/cardigan/vest thingy that may just be the thing I need to use the chunky yarn I picked up on Bobmas Eve. And for socks I am enamoured with Baroque and I'm glad that it's got me excited about socks again. Since, you know, I HAVE A TON OF SOCK YARN<whoops, how did that happen? :| Other knitting news, I am done one side of clue one of the Mystery Stole 4. It is knit in two halves then grafted together at the end- I may cast on the second side tomorrow so there's a chance that I'll actually get both sides down. My thoughts: I'm very pleased with my yarn, bead and needle choice (once I got over that scare when my needle tip unscrewed and I very nearly lost about 50 beaded stitches, WOTCHER. My natural knitting movement, especially when placing beads, happens to unscrew the tip on my options needles a little bit. This isn't so bad when there's only a few beaded stitches in a row but when there's more than 50? WHOOPSIES.) I'm getting a nice solid stockinette, my lace is distinct and shows up well, the beads lay nicely and contrast well and I love the colour of the yarn. I'm hoping the pattern turns out well. I woke up very early this morning practically choking from coughing so much. I woke up my mom. I sleep in the basement and she sleeps on the second floor, and I woke her up. WHOOPSIE. *dies*

Camden looks super fun. Might try a cable motif rather than bobbles, though, but something that imitates the general shape of the bobble distribution. Maybe echoed in miniature down the sleeves. . . *schemeyschemey*

Apparently I actually like bobbles. Not all the time, obviously, but when used properly they can be kind of awesome.

...if Penny reads this she's going to plotz. It'll be awesome.

But yeah, cables would be good too!

I think some of the most comfortable pairs of shoes I've ever owned were 20$, but they just happened to fit my feet really well. If they fit really well and they're cheap, maybe get them and think of them as try-outs until you have the cash to look for something more expensive. I myself am thinking of rewarding myself after Exam #1 with a pair of high heels I saw last time I was shopping - I harbour a secret desire to become one of those women who wears high heels with jeans.

New Knitty: Versatility looks way cool, I'm just a little bit suspicious about how some of the styles would look from the back. I also fell in love with Baroque at first sight.

I'm thinking I should look for something a bit better quality, but with a lower heel (these were pretty high) but that I'd be much more likely to wear. I like the shoes I wore to the wedding, but they're sandals and won't work most of the year.

Yeah, if they're complete garbage, then it can be a waste of money to buy something that will just fall apart. Don't discount the higher heels though. They only take a little bit longer to get used to.
