Oh good lord. One of the questions that we might get to choose on the exam tomorrow (that no one will)
Considering that we covered Stenstrom in barely five minutes in class, where she put up an overhead and refered to a handout she'd given us the class before but hadn't bothered to explain or even label as being from Stenstrom, never mind the fact that she said previously that Eggins & Slade wouldn't be on the exam since we'd already covered it... the Stenstrom that she's refering to here is the first three chapters of her book (130 pages) that she only put on reserve at the library after classes were done.
Srsly.No wai! heh
OMG, so screwed. And yet, I feel somewhat zen.
Discuss how Austin's work on performatives in the early sixties led to Eggins & Slade and Stenstrom's work on speech function and exchange structure in the nineties.
