Some good news from The Paperbacks
Also?
zanzibar_mcbean! That Novillero Jesus Christ Superstar cover we were talking about? is fucking right here, dude.
This almost makes today all better. It's kinda dumb, how these local bands just make things seem okay, but they do.
ETA: Also? I cannot watch the trailer for Eight Below and not start crying.
I admit it, I'm a sap.
January 15th, 2006.
Hello, and how are…what? What’s that you say? Why has there been no update in…OVER A YEAR?
I was actually hoping you wouldn’t notice. But, since you bring it up, let me provide you with a simple explanation: In early 2005, we were attacked in our homes by a double-dealing ninja sorceress, who set our seperate seven-story mansions ablaze and left convincing forensic evidence that we were dead. However, we were not dead; merely brainwashed into being the chief assassins for a group of grey, gelatinous monsters known collectively as The Fatal Fifteen. Luckily, a rogue CIA agent (who was conveniently also grey and gelatinous) had previously infiltrated the group, and, using the mystical helmet of Nabu, realigned our brainwaves to their previous state. Over the course of 2005, we worked in tandem to crush their evil organization from within. With our efforts successful, we were finally returned to our newly rebuilt island stronghold, where celebrations raged for forty days and ten nights.
And now, with things back to normal, we resume the task of being The Paperbacks.
So what’s going on with us, you ask? Well, we’re continuing work on our latest albatross…pardon me, ALBUM, which we have made significant progress on, but which won’t, as previously reported, be out in May 2004.
Following the completion of our string-soaked, gospel-choir-laden masterpiece, we will tour Earth.
More details to follow…January of 2007.
(Kidding!)
