So. I've been paying much closer attention to the news since I've been up here, and dude. I know we talk a lot about the conservative and "liberal" (ie, "left wing" bias of the media, that I'm putting in quotation marks because it's kind of a joke, really) but I was watching the CBC Newsworld coverage of the Grewal tapes, and the possible doctoring of them, and dude. The anchor moderating the converstaion between the four parties was so biased towards the Liberals, it was a joke. Gah.

The whole Grewal thing is just so fucked up, man. And, while I don't like the idea of the Liberals having offered (if they did indeed offer anything, which I'm sure they did, because hey. Politics.) the fact that Harper has no problem with one of his MPs having recorded a private conversation just blows my mind. This whole thing has just dragged Canadian politics back into the bitterness that it was just starting to leave behind. Bah.

In other news, I may be home Monday morning now.

Bitterness. >< Bah. *Bitter about it*

Yeah, I know what you mean, though. Isn't that.. like... illegal?

I've been waiting for a liberal MP to ask the RCMP to investigate Grewal for taping people without their knowledge or consent. Honestly, I think it's the Conservatives who've acted really unethically here. Things must be getting better up north if you have enough energy to get excited about politics. Hope that's the case!

This is true of much CBC reporting. I notice that whenever they do a story involving politics or government program, it tends to be the non-ruling side of the story first. Then the political official is interviewed and gets to spin as desired.

Okay so it isn't FOX News... but it isn't exactly balanced either...
