I just finished the first hank of Selkirk for my hoodie, so I'd guess it's about 15% done. I still have 2 more inches to go before I hit the underarm shaping. I've reread it several times and it seems pretty straightforward, so I'm not worrying much about it, other than wondering what kind of bind-off I should use. Any suggestions?
An interesting feature in the knitting of this hoodie (at least for me) is that I haven't wound these hanks into centrepull balls or anything. Inspired by that knitter I saw on the Yarn Harlot's blog a few months ago, and my own a)laziness and b) impatience, I'm simply laying the hank out over my knees while watching tv or sitting at the computer, and just knitting. I lift out a few rounds and knit. When I have to stop I just retwist the hank and secure it, and put it away.It hasn't caused me any problems yet. Also, I'm using the magnetic patter holder thing I won at the Bobmas Eve get-together, and once I figured out how to slide it more easily, it's working awesome.
The professor emailed me my grade for my final paper (15/20) and final mark in the class (82%) and while it's a bit lower that I probably would have liked, I still have to go see his actual comments and chat about stuff. One of the things he suggested was applying for the Harrington Fellowship and I have to admit, I'm a little o.O about the idea.
You guys, my cat was totally just playing with a ball of yarn, batting it around. *tsk* Way to reinforce the stereotype, kitty.
