I'm taking a break from knitting the Flower Basket Shawl right now, mostly because I've run out of podcasts and audio books to listen to (downloading Equal Rites as we speak, in order to keep on knitting on) and... yeah. I'm not quite sure how this is going to turn out.
I'm knitting it on needles a size larger than called for, with sock yarn and not the two strands of laceweight held together that it calls for. The gauge is pretty loose, but the stitch pattern is still visible. I'm done 6 of the 7 pattern repeats that are called for, and it's not all that big (of course, I have it scrunched up on the circular needle, so I can't really judge the size.) I'm debating throwing a lifeline on after the 7the pattern repeat and going for an 8th, and if I don't have enough yarn for the edging, I'll just rip back and do the edging there.
A question I really should have looked into before this (however, I'm not too worried if I end up frogging this whole thing since it's been fast and fun and I've learned quite a bit in doing it...) does Fleece Artist Merino Sock yarn block well? I should have done up a swatch and blocked it, but... live and learn, I guess.
rosie_riviter, your dad is here working on our walls and Grimm has stuck next to me since he walked in. I'm not sure if she's going to protect more, or if I'm supposed to be protecting her, but it's odd since he's been in and out of here almost all week and this is the first time she's acting like this. Weirdo cat.
eta: The lace shawl has now gotten to the interminable stage- at least the patterns are memorable enough that I don't have to keep checking the sheet.
