My ode to my favourite yarn, that I wrote a few days ago on the Knitty boards:

Paton's SWS. It has the long colour changes of Noro, a beautiful shine, the softness of... a very soft thing you would want around your neck and beautiful colourways.

The warmth of wool, the je ne sais quoi of soy and it knits so easily.

One skein makes two mittens, two makes a nice scarf and they're reasonably cheap and readily available. It's nice enough that I'd gift it to an experienced knitter, as well as to a beginner to get them hooked on natural fibers.

Add to that, one skein and a little bit makes a totally bitching touque. I almost don't want to give it to mom (but I will, and make the pink one for myself.) Knitting and Thai food with the girls last night was such a good idea (except for the falling asleep while casting on for a pair of handwarmers. Um, oops? At least I lasted longer than [livejournal.com profile] _jibberish_...)

Also, I discovered that the chai tea mix that we've had for almost a year now is actually chai tea latte mix. *drools* So, I had a latte last night. I need to figure out a cheap way to make it (instant coffee, powdered milk and various spices?) so I can keep a tin of it at school for those days.

Now, to write this damn student's guide.

I realize that this is a longshot, but.

Does anyone have a copy of Jim Cuddy's "Married Again", with Kathleen Edwards?

Today has been kind of bad for working- I keep nodding off, then going downstairs to bed but unable to sleep. Bah.
