Crap. Today's been a bit of a wash (but on the plus side, I finished knitting the headband. I'm wearing it now- I was going to give it away for Christmas, but now I'm not so sure. I like wearing it, it makes me feel pretty.)

Still debating taking forensics or algonquian ethnography. I know which one really would help me more in the long term, but still. I don't really want to take that.

House all to myself today. Don't think that I didn't do a little dance in my towel, shaking my ass to Novillero played at full volume. Sweet.

ETA: And for the win, my uncle just dropped off my Hornblower and Black Hawk Down DVDs he had borrowed months ago. "I loved Hornblower! Will there be any more?" "I don't think so." "Oh. *sad tear*"

Six random facts about me:

1. I have green eyes, but have always had a large splotch of brown in my left eye. Lately though it's gotten larger, and I'm getting a ring of brown in my right eye.

2. The first course I ever failed was Myth, Magic and Shamanism. I wrote the final exam and all, but somehow freaked out and didn't had in my final paper. I'm still not sure exactly why that was. The second course I failed was Origins of Human Culture, and that's only because once I finally gave up and admitted that it was way too far beyond my abilities, it was three days past the final drop date. I can be a stubborn ass about these things.

3. When I was ten my mom was pregnant, but had a miscarriage sometime past the mid point. It was at the Albertville Olympics- I know because I remember being at my cousin Christine's apartment for a sleepover and we were watching the opening ceremonies when she got a call. My mom had started to bleed out and it didn't stop so she had to go in to the hospital until the next day.

4. I have scars: one on my upper right arm from having a cyst removed when I was five, a small scar on my face from someone's fingernail during a game of tag in girl guides, a scar on my left knee from slipping on ice while running for the bus, one above my eyebrow from a "jade" cat when I was learning to walk and one of unknown origin on my right palm (under the thumb).

5. I still have my dad's ashes. They're sitting in a box in the closet- we don't really know what to do with them any more.

6. One of my favourite foods is lemon steamed asparagus. Part of it is the taste, part of it is the fact that I learned how to cook it after watching someone else do it once, and then adapting the recipe. Also the fact that mom (and other people) have said that it's actually the only time they've ever enjoyed eating asparagus- I take pride in that.

I should be working, but I'm drinking Strongbow, am exhausted and in an icon-making mood. If you want to risk these factors, gimme some prompts and I'll see what I can whip up.

*headdesk*

Mom really likes my headband. She wants me to make on for my cousin in law for Christmas, instead of the Frill shawl. This is good, since I had decided not to make the shawl, but I must now find another awesome yarn (maybe some more variegated soy silk?) for it. Something that would look good in her black hair.

Oh! Friends in Winnipeg: if there is a Michael's flyer in tomorrow's Free Press, could I possibly get the coupons from you (if you're not using them?) There's some awesome new Classic wool colours (Rosewood! Forest! Retro!) that I wanted to make Booga bags out of.

Wait! That's what I was going to make Lisa instead of the Frill. Hmm.

Anyway. Just got back from dropping the relatives off at their new apartment. It's nice, but. I prefer their old place.
