(no subject)

So, I finished off mom's stole for the wedding (it will no longer be a burden on my soul). Not entirely happy with it (of course), and I still have to sew in the ends, but it's done. Trying to cast on for the shell lace afghan, but with this boucle it's very hard to count all of the stitches (and my natural inability to, you kow, count.) Of course, this isn't complicated at all by my watching season 6 of SG1 at the same time.

I'll be working on the afghan in my spare time. At the moment I also want to work on my cousin in law's beaded shawl, the opera gloves, the duck purse and mom's moebius and the pippin scarf I've been working on for the past few months..

Novillero are playing tomorrow (today) at Old Market Square at 5:30. Awesome.

It turns out now that my aunt has found somewhere else to stay, so you know, now I feel like a massive git. Oh well, par for the course for this week. Now it's back to the usual squabbling with mom: today's theme is "the compost is your responsibility." *sigh* Because it's so difficult for her to walk into the backyard with a bowl full of vegetable bits and tea bags. Of course, everything was going well (ie, everything compostable was being put in there, every day) when we were using my system (an old pot kept in the kitchen) but she got disgusted by that (wtf?) and insisted on a smallish tupperware tub kept in the garage (wtf?). So now we appear to be at a detente.

I think I was spoiled for Doctor Who this morning, but I don't want to ask for confirmation, because, you know, I'm trying to stay unspoiled. Same for PotC:Dead Man's Chest and the upcoming Stargate seasons- you spoil me,and I cutchoo, fool.

I read in the newspaper today that Novillero are going to be in an upcoming episode of Monk, so you know, yaye for that. They're also playing at Old Market Square this afternoon at 5:30, if anyone would like to join me.

I love my boys, so much. It was an awesome show (despite no dancing) and oh, my heart. Seeing the guys interacting with these wee sproglets during the soundcheck was just so unbelievably sweet. And it again made me want to have a kid. What is up with this?

They played some of the new songs (Plastic Flag (?) was awesome) and Dave sang another cover, Red Book (?). I can't believe how dorky this sounds, but. How is it that they bring me so much joy when listening to them?

thegiantkiller and I met up afterwards (I missed her before it started) and then we went for tea and killed ourselves laughing at the idea of a 50'-tall Jack Jonasson with his foot stuck in the entrance to The Cavern, laying across Osborne with busses flipping over him. It makes no sense now, but trust me, it was hilarious.

I wish I had some Strongbow right now. Oh! The hockey game is back on.

I drank while watching the hockey game. With the sun and all, I'm a little bit buzzed. Hee.

Apparently the second season of Doctor Who is starting on my birthday. So, while I was avoiding spoilers before, now I am totally abstaining (and also, unless I have a test on the next day, having a viewing/birthday party. Totally.)
