You read the books your mom didn't want you to
read. You know, the ones that have raciness,
tact, and true gut emotion. Here's a pen. Go to
it.

Are You Cool Enough to Be a Literature Nerd?

Like [livejournal.com profile] priya I must complain that anybody who actually paid attention to English class in higschool could get this result.

Just finished listening to m Greek and Latin in Today's English teacher on the radio, talking about Pandora's box and other stories and about women in Greek society. She's so cool.

ETA: Eeek! The temperature is -30 (-22F), -43(-30F) with the windchill.

I just finished reading A Game of You. What an incredibly strong story. The ending, while sad, still feel right.

I *heart* Neil Gaiman. I just wish I had money so I could order Fables and Reflections right now.

*blinks* I'm at the computer all day and maybe 6 people post, then I go take a two hour nap, come back and there are 21 posts.

Grr, you people. *shakes fist*

And now I have Rolling Stones songs stuck in my head. Gah, serves me right for listening to 40 Licks as I fell asleep.

May I just say again that Wild Horses is just a brilliant song?

I watched High Fidelity yesterday, which was great.

I also got a book from the library called Booty: Girl Pirates on the High Seas. (Also: searching for "booty" on amazon.ca brings up a lot of male gay porn and books about evangelical history. Who knew?)

I must still be tired because I'm all random and I keep catching myself making typos.

Crap. Of course, once I decide that yes, I really do want to go see Mystic River, it's no longer playing in Winnipeg.

Grrarrrgh. I could ask mom to go see Love, Actually with me. But then she'll tell me I should finish my essays or that it's too bloody cold (both are true, but it's in the cheap theatre now and I really, really want to see it, which is strange for me and a romantic comedies).

Basically, I just want to leave the house. I'm going a bit stir crazy, and I'm tired of sitting in front of the computer, trying to write.

What phase of the Greek Tragic Cycle am I? )

Speaking of Greek (& Latin in Today's English), I'm stuck on the last clue for the Word Pyramid Prof. Cahill gave us. The clue is "Sheets for writing letters", and the letters I have are esperanto+_. Anybody got a clue?

Also, [livejournal.com profile] eibhinn made me this kickass icon. Thank you once again, for the void in my life caused by the absence of this icon has now been filled.

ETA: I figured out the word pyramid. The last word was "notepapers". I can't claim that I figured it out by myself; I went to the Merriam Webster Collegiate dictionary website, used their jumble function and typed in "esperanto" and added a letter each time. It took me 10 tries, but I got it. I'm just glad I wasn't searching for "treponema", because it would have taken much longer.
