NaKniSweMo update: the main part of the body is done; I am actually wearing it as a cardigan right now.

Thoughts: the sleeves are a little short, maybe an inch? Not enough for me to rip it out. The sleeves are close like I like them, so I'm glad I made that mod, despite how much the math for the yoke decreases messed me up at first. The short row bust shaping doesn't seem to math my boobs very well, but at I'm wearing a sports bra, nothing with any actual lift (or resemblance to my regular bust size) so that may very well change. Also, it's only when I stand up straight with my shoulders back (and boobs pushed down) do I really notice the extra length in the front that the shaping gives me, but when I've got my normal posture on I don't notice it much at all.

Verdict (so far): I like it. The knit bit just makes me shiver to think about.

The sound of it, dudes. The sounds. Snip, snip, snip.

Have successfully hand-sewn steeked a swatch. I've given it a few good tugs, and it has not unravelled. I'm cautiously optimistic.

Of course, after hand sewinga 4 inch swatch, my hand hurts from tension. Not sure how I'll manage a larger sweater, but I'll give it a shot. Also, I did a 3-needle bind off on the underarms of my cardigan and fixed the fairly major fuckup I made on the first where part of the back started to unravel.

I really need to get out and go to the store where I found the kind of jacket I want and see if they can call around for the right size/colour. Mom and I went to the other Mark's Work Warehouse on Sunday and the guy who called one other store for us (and there are several in the city) was really bitchy and ugh. Even if he had it there I wouldn't have wanted to buy from him.
