Reasons I love History Bites: "Next up, the rebel forces meet the evil empire in Tsar Wars." Hee! ("Stay tuned, for when the empire strikes back.")

Also, I've seen all of Torchwood now, and huh. I like it. And, I've decided on my perfect Doctor Who/Torchwood icon, I just need to find images to work with.

I frogged my handwarmers and started again with the yarn doubled. It should work better, but hopefully I'll have enough and not have to go back for more.

I'm strangely looking forward to class tonight (despite some of the other students) (I'm not referring to thegiantkiller here) if only because I'm hoping for a good discussion with the teacher (I may change my mind if it ends up sucking though. My perogative.)

You know what? I don't have a problem with Shamanism. I don't even have a problem with the majority of "new age" spirituality, as long as I don't have people preaching it to me. I don't (usually) have a problem with people claiming to be shamans after having studied and put a lot of thought into it.

What I do have a problem with is people claiming to be practising shamans, bringing it up everytime we meet and bringing it up in class when it isn't relevant. It smacks of pretentiousness and attention whoring, and it makes everyone else in the class cringe. People are hesitant to speak up in class because of this individual, and have I mentioned that it's a seminar class?

Hiro is my hero for one of the best subtle digs I've ever seen, and done on the spot during his seminar presentation, no less. I gave him an extra-big hug in class because of it.

I don't know if I'm being extra harsh here or what, but I'm taking this class at the honours level and it's my only class this term. I want to do well at it, and I don't feel like I can learn that much if she's going to be taking over the conversation at every chance she gets.

Seriously, the thing most prominent in my mind when I think back to this class is not Mary Douglas' grid/group chart, but that fact that this girl's fucking totem animal is a jaguar. Fucking hell.
