English1A today, we learned MLA format. She gave us an assignment on it, and I finished it right away. I'm surprised I didn't just lay my head down on my desk afterwards (what teachers normally told me to do when finishing assignments like that early.)
I just finished reading Medicine River by Thomas King. King is just an awesome storyteller, and he has the voices right down; a lot of the time it felt like I was back in Thompson, sitting around with a mug of tea listening to people telling stories. So, while it was for school this was definitely some pleasure reading; I'd like to go to the library and pick up another book, but I have some at home already, and I'd just end up buying a latte at the cafe and perusing the knitting section.
Both of the professors I need to talk to about ongoing projects are actually here today. It's not urgent-urgent (I hope), but annoying nonetheless. Bah. Maybe I'll work up a thesis for my English 1A research project, and ponder the five bibliography entries (two of which I need to source in that paper, and when I snorted at that in class (unintentionally, but not really) the teacher asked if that was more than I was used to. I tried not to laugh, I really did.)
And people (ie, mom) have been wondering why I don't seem to be taking school all that seriously this term.
