Friday greek_amazon made an awesome observation, that I'm much calmer when I'm able to knot. So, I'm insituting a knitting policy for the next few weeks: every two days I have to complete another repeat of the straight section on my Clapotis, and drop the stitches. I've already done 2 this weekend, and feel better already.

Apparently last night after watching and episode of Stargate Atlantis with my girls (well, _jibberish_ and coleman_genie, because ananasananas fell asleep immediately) I fell asleep with my head on Karen's lap. Ooops. Woke up and eveyone had gone home. Sorry.

Today, I work on pretty much everything for History of the English Language. OED paper, textbook exercises, takehome exam.

Narratives from Northern Manitoba –Corie Johnston

How are oral narratives different from literary narratives? How does the narrative trajectory shape the way that stories are told? Are there differences in the stories told by Cree women as opposed to English women? This presentation will examine two oral narratives from women of Northern Manitoban. Not only will the elements of orality and narrative be examined, but also the (possible) differences in oral storytelling between cultures.
