So, would anyone be interested in doing the Manitoba marathon relay with me?

Also, Garnet Rogers will be in Winnipeg on February 11. I find this very amusing.

Erm. Mom came home about 1/2 hour ago, having vomited on herself in traffic. I'll be tending to a sick mommy today (so far, made her tea and sent her to sleep.)

Two new communities: [livejournal.com profile] uofw_anthro, where all the anthro geeks come out to play, and [livejournal.com profile] aos_winnipeg, a gathering place for Winnipeg Age of Sail fans to get together and geek out.

I'm a big fan of geeking out.

Oh. Looks like my paatient is awake. Back to work.

Dude, there's a new IPA symbol, for the labiodental flap.

The labiodental flap sound is produced by drawing the lower lip back into the mouth well behind the upper teeth and then bringing it forward rapidly, striking the upper teeth briefly in passing. A few languages have an alternative pronunciation, called a "bilabial flap", in which the lower lip strikes the upper lip rather than the upper teeth.

CNN revamps prime time to make way for rising star
"He's got a refreshing way of being the anti-anchor," Klein said of Cooper. "He's not quote-unquote reporting at you. He's just being himself. He's asking the questions you would like answered. He's getting involved the way you might. You feel that he's a regular person that you can trust talking to you. He brings such a passion to the storytelling that's infectious."

Fromt he flist:

If you read this, if your eyes are passing over this right now, even if we don't speak often, please post a comment with a memory of you and me. It can be anything you want, either good or bad. I promise not to come after you with a spatula, either way.

When you're finished, post this little paragraph on your blog and be surprised (or mortified) about what people remember about you.

Going to band tonight. Are you surprised? I know I am.

Under the wire, happy birthday to [livejournal.com profile] coleman_genie, my thousandth man. Woman. Person. *love*

Spiced up tonight's walk with brief spurts of jogging. I loved it. However, if I take up jogging, I think I need to eventually invest in an ipod or some such thing (or maybe even go back to a walkman, how retro!) because my discman kept skipping.

Also, contacts and a sports bra. And maybe a separate pair of sneakers so I don't wear these ones out too fast *cuddles sneakers* Ew. Stinky.

Mom is still ill. Oh dear. If she is sick tomorrow, I'll stay home (from my one class, omg I hate 8:30 classes). Not because she won't be giving me a ride, but because I enjoy coddling her with tea and such.

Also, asthma shouldn't be sexy. Damn you Kapranos!

ETA: I'm also totally treating yself to the new Sigur Ros CD once I get paid.
