I seriously just had three different charities call me in a row, asking for my mom. I'm all for charity and helping other people, but sometimes it just feels ridiculous. I mean really- we don't have that much money to begin with, and we already donate a good bit to some charities. So don't try to guilt us into donating more than we can- I'm really tempted to just tell them to fuck off and screw their dying children in Africa.

Uh, wow. That was much more angry than the "Grr! People keep phoning!" post I was going to make.

I really want to go out and see a movie. I need to get out of the house today- this being a shut-in thing is beyond ridiculous. But I hate going to see movies on Friday nights- Far too many people. And that's why I won't be going to any Harry Potter things tonight either- I just wouldn't be able to handle it. I'm getting freaked out just thinking about it (yet another thing I appear to have learned from my dad.)

I hate, hate, hate the fact that they've closed down the Cinema City at Pembina- the one at McPhillips isn't open yet, and I'm not going to be able to convince people to go all the way out to Northgate. Fucking hell, the one at Pembina was always super busy; why close it down before the "super cheap seats" was finished being built? (In a location that really isn't convenient to anyone at all?) For serious- the one at Pembina was close enough to a large student population, families with small children and regular folks (and being regular Winnipeggers they'd be cheap bastards waiting for movies to be at the cheap seats. Come on Winnipeggers, you know it's true.) The theatres at Pembina probably got business from the theatres at St.Vital (how many times have we gone to St.Vital, looked at the movies, thought "no way" and made our way to Pembina?)

It just makes no sense. And I really want to see a couple of movies at the cheap seats. So maybe I'll make my way out to the other side of the city to do that.

ETA: My cousin and I are going to see Fantastic Four at 37:40 today, at St. Vital. People are welcome to show up and join us.

Here's the info on the Icelandic Festival up in Gimli, and here's a list of what's going on. Novillero hit the stage at 8, but other than that I have no demands as to what we do.

So, thoughts being bandied about: I can borrow the truck and we can go out in that. Possibly find a spot and go camping as well, or we could (hopefully) crash at Shannon's cabing and dostuff there too.

Like Karen said, too bad it's so algae-y, we can't really go swimming on Lake Winnipeg.

Fantastic Four was awesome.

Plus afterwards, Stuart and I stole popcorn. That someone left behind and hadn't touched.

Possibly gross, but you can't beat the taste of ill-gotten popcorn.
