I know some of my school lj friends have expressed interest every once in a while about my English teachers, so I'll pass this along:
Professor Karen Malcolm gives the fifth lecture in the English
Department Lecture Series, Work in Process/Process in Work - "How Many
Grammars Am I Writing?" Friday, March 18th from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in
room 2M67. Free and open to the public.

Also, I believe I'm coming down with the Festivale death cold. Damn you [livejournal.com profile] pyroclasticgrub and [livejournal.com profile] numensule! *shakes fist*

ETA: Two new book covers out today: Anansi Boys  ) and Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince (possibly spoilery, maybe. at your own risk.)

Yaye books!

Gah. Fulford says that it's almost 99.9% certain that I'm going up north to do fieldwork, but it still has to go through an internal vetting process. There's a meeting this afternoon, and after that he'll be able to tell me more.

*frets* But at least I've been approved by Ottawa. Heh. Ottawa approves of me.

My friends are awesome, because they link to news articles that contain things like the following:
His findings have provoked a lot of interest - especially in Britain for some reason - but no other recorded cases of duck necrophilia. However, Mr Moeliker was informed of an American case involving a squirrel and a dead partner, although in this case it is not known whether the necrophilia observed was homosexual or not as the victim had been run over by a truck shortly before the incident.

Brilliant.

There hasn't been a reappearance of the cough that I suspected was the nasty Festivale death cold. And I went to my physio appointment, only to be told that it was actually on Friday, but they fit me in anyway.

I need to do some baking tonight, as well as homework. And do some serious recs for fanfic authour appreciation week, as well as update [livejournal.com profile] darker_grey. Eventually.

Reccing this post from a long time ago, because we were talking about it in school on monday, and wanted to share: [livejournal.com profile] koimistress For They Will Say Both Yes And No

I watched House and loved it. <3

I'm trying to get my work done. It's slow going, because I suck. But I made cappuccino-chocolate chip muffins for the bake sale, so I don't suck as much as I originally thought.

This Hour Has 22 Minutes wasn't very good tonight, but it did have Colleen Jones poking fun at herself, and the immortal phrase "I'm voting for the New Conservative Party because I had sex with a chicken because of the Liberals." Heh.

Manitoba's in a 3-way tie for 2nd at the Brier. Dammit. Win, Randy!(Dutiame! Not Ferbey!)

*ahem*

ETA: [livejournal.com profile] orlisbunny (who is one of my favouritest people right now) (so now you know what gets people on the list...I kid! Really!) posted more behind the scenes screencaps from Vildspor.

The man just takes my breath away. )
