Mom and I went and saw that Potter movie.

I don't know if it's because I've lived with these books for so long, but this just felt kind of empty. Like, it covered all of the main points, but... wait, no it didn't even cover some of what I feel are really important bits of the book. But it went over some of them, but didn't really deal with some of the more emotional aspects of what's being covered.

But dude, this movie totally had me shipping Harry/Luna, for serious. Anybody got any recs?

In the middle of writing that short review, I had to stop because of a stray kitten. I didn't catch the stray kitten (it may not even be stray) but it has the same kind of markings as Grimmalken. Spooky.

YES. I mean, I liked it, I think, and it was really well-done, but yeah, it just felt kind of...heartless, I guess. Like they just made a list of everything they had to get in and ran through it.

Luna, though, was wonderful, and what little Neville had left totally had me sniffly. So kudos to them.

I was disappointed by the lack of CAPSLOCK HARRY, too.

While CAPSLOCK HARRY is annoying and tiring in the book, it would have been much easier to show in the movie. And while I don't think the DanRad of the first movies could have done it, he's at the point now where he totally could.

I'm glad that they put in a few scenes with Harry and Sirius, because otherwise I don't know if people would have even remembered why Hsrry would be so affected by his death- even with those scenes there wasn't that much of an emotional impact. I went into the theatre fully expecting to be bawling over this, and... nothing. And I've been living with these characters for so long, I would have expected something, you know?

Oh god, I loved Luna. I kind of want Luna, Neville and Harry to just go skipping off (like Luna always does) into the sunset once all of this is over.

I think one of my favourite little scenes from the movie is Fred and George comforting Nigel after the punishments. I mean, really- go after the big kids as much as you want, but if you fuck with Nigel? Shit's going to go down.

Yeah, there was some serious Harry/Luna goodness in this one. Luna was so wonderfully wispy.

I just wish we could have seen some more of the characters that I love (Tonks, Lupin, Snape, etc...). And they also didn't explain the whole Neville Longbottom being part of the prophecy?

There were some parts that were fantastic, like Staunton's vicious'y sweet portrayal of Umbridge and Helena Bonham Carter as Bellatrix, but yeah. This one missed something.

I guess it was missing something a bit, but I really enjoyed it, maybe because I haven't read the book for so long, and never really liked the book that much. It was rushed, but overall, it worked for me.

I loved that even though Luna didn't look right -- her hair was too nice -- she was excellent for the part.
