(no subject)

I'm determined to get this damn paper done tonight. It will be rough, but gaah. Need to get it done and in.

Also, need to begin writing my annotated bibliography entries for directed readings, and studying for the History of the English Language quiz on Friday. Gaaah.

My life feels so boring- most interesting part of the day was discussing the possibly etymology project with my teacher. And I'm not even sure if it is something that I can even do for school. (It's about looking at the etymological history and semantic meanings of the word "home". *glee!*)

Today would have been my dad's 6?th birthday I'm a little off today because of it. Fall is just hard on me, really.

the guy 'helping' us at chapters didn't even know what an etymological dictionary was.
gah!

Two good books: The American Heritage Dictionary of Indo-European Roots, edited by Calvert Watkins, and Dictionary of Word Origins, by John Ayto.

Now, I don't know what the rest of the linguistic community thinks of these, but I found them very helpful.

I'd be willing to lend them to you (I may need them for the possibly upcoming project), they are nice. (Also, not that you'd need it since you're intelligent, but I can show you how to use the one book. It's a little daunting.)

May I ask why a sudden interest in etymology? An interest in linguistics?

oh, i don't need to borrow them. thanks anyway. i just really want to own both and english and a french etymological dictionary.
i just love learning about the past and that includes the origines of words (i love languages).

dictionaries r cool.

Just a lot of school, after a fairly busy summer. I normally take the summer to decompress, but I didn't get to do that as much as I normally would this year.

Dude, I can't believe you guys saw me like that on Saturday, but the movie is omg good. You should watch.
