Dude! Belinda Stronach crossed the floor and joined the Liberal cabinet.

!!!

And yes, the whole article is interesting, and then there's this tidbit at the end:
Pressed on how her decision will affect her romantic relationship with Central Nova MP Peter MacKay, the deputy leader of the Conservatives, Stronach called that a "personal matter" that she did not intend to comment upon.

Oh dear.

Noooooooooooo!!!

This whole thing is making me much more anxious than it probably should.

*frets*

Dude. Canadian politics are so much more interesting than American. *pouts*

Normally it is so, so boring. It's probably a good thing we rarely have minority governments, since I don't think I can stand much more of this.

Some one'll be sleeping on the couch tonight!

"Romantic relationship"!?! How long has this been going on. I must read the Canadian news more often.

I think it started over a year ago.

Weren't they both running for the Conservative leadership at one point?

What do you mean 'Weren't they both running for the Conservative leadership at one point'!? That is the point! (well one of them)

[identity profile] prairiedaun.livejournal.com 2005-05-18 03:42 am (UTC)(link)
Didn't they get together right after the leadership race? That's more my point here.

(I'm using my boykissing icon in an ironic fashion while talking about two conservatives getting it on, even if Stronach (apparently) supports teh gay rights. It's what I've heard, I'd need to look at her statements.)

Dude, this is hilarious!

On the other hand, I REALLY want the budget to pass. Parks Canada needs its money and we finally have enough to deal something with. The Conservatives will no doubt take it all away if they could.

At this point, unless the two independent MPs vote against it (Parrish has already said she'd support it) it looks good.

If not, were into an election. However, I'm not convinced that the Conservatives will win at this point and I'm thinking if they do, it'd be another minority government. Oh, yaye! *cough*

in a CBC radio interview, Peter MacKay sounded like he'd been hit by a truck. :/

I'm starting to feel bad for the guy. Apparently he's holed up at his parents' farm.

Oh Canada.

Yeah, that's rough. *snicker*
