I've cast on for the Wool Peddler's Shawl as of last night. I've been really anxious the past few days, and the mindlessness of the garter stitch has helped keep me somewhat calm. I have four hanks of Ram Wools Selkirk in the Grey Heather colourway that I was going to save for a sweater, but I don't think I'd wear the colour as a sweater (despite the name, it's a blue/green mix). It's a litle scratchy (another thing keeping me from using it for a sweater) but I think if I wash it in some nice rinse stuff, it'll soften up and be lovely to throw on in the winter.

rosie_riviter's mom brought over Leah this afternoon, and I'm proud to say I'm getting better at this whole "holding small children" thing. I'm not a natural.
Mom and I are seriously considering getting a new cat. Any thoughts/tips/suggestions about introducing a young neutered male cat to an older fixed female cat (who can be kind of territorial and a fighter?)
