I feel kinda bad for ignoring Buy Nothing Day, but dammit, I needed a new toothbrush. And while I was there, I saw many presents that needed to be bought. And some yarn for a scarf. And cards. At least I was able to resist new socks.

And I stopped in to The Body Shop, looking for stuff for mom, and I got talked into trying the citrus glitter lotion, and augh. Too glittery, and it won't get off my hands. Hopefully it won't transfer to Lappy or the yarn.

I mean, I do appreciate the sentiment of it. But yeah- if you've been putting off buying something until you actually have money, it really sucks to try and wait another day to buy that toothbrush you really, really need. And who wants to make a second trip to the store when you're going to end up buying the same thing anyway?

I mean, really. I'm making quite a few presents as it is this year- I seriously doubt that my buying of a box of chocolates for a friend or not is going to bring around the end of consurmerism. Now, if the argument was "Don't buy from giant multinationals day", I probably would have bought that box of chocolates from Morden's, or the chocolatiers on the corner (even if they are hideously expensive). I'm still not sure where I would have gotten my toothbrush from, though.

And, eee! House!

The independent convenience store that charges $10 for one? ;)
