Yesterday's news has been the kick in the ass I needed to get going on the job search. I don't know why, but my resume looks really childish; would anyone be willing to look it over and make suggestions? Also, when applying for retail jobs at the mall, do I need a cover letter? I assume yes, but I'm not sure.

Ooof. Every single place I went to drop off my resume handed me an application form instead. *flails* My previous jobs (except for office co-ordinator during the election) don't fit nicely into a standardized form! Seriously, what do I write down as my position for my research project fom last summer, other than "researcher"?

The guy at Starbucks was the nicest, Cotton Ginny (the one I actually saw listed on the job bank) the craziest. Payless tried to get me to fill out the form in the store (dude, how the hell am I supposed to remember what I made per hour at a job from 3 years ago?)

Employed friends, how the hell did you ever manage this?

I know it wasn't anyone's intention, but now I feel like shit for wanting an easy retail job that I know I can do and is close to home.
