There's this place that I go to in my dreams sometimes. Usually I go there to be alone, or to go camping with dad. Last night, there was fishing.
It's normally summer there (although one time it was winter and I was snowmobiling and fell through the ice). There's a large lake (not as massive as lake Winnipeg, but much, much larger than Gull lake) with woods all around and a river leading into it. The geography, to my mind, is very distinctly Manitoban in that north of Winnipeg but south of the serious Interlake region, marshy but wooded. No one else really knows about it- last night I told
_jibberish_ I was going there and she didn't recognize the name of it. I don't remember what name I finallyu gave it in that dream.
One time there was a mini version of the lake and river, but set in St. Vital park. The only difference other than the size was that in the river there were stepping stones, and I used them to run away from whatever was chasing me. I knew it was a good plan since the other... person? thing? was afraid of the water. I probably would have been afraid too, but it was my river and lake, so I knew not to be afraid.
If this place was personified, it would be like Fiddler's Green, but more of a northern edge to it. And a Cree accent.
