I'd almost be afraid to use it, but how gorgeous is this Midnight Sky spindle?

Holy crap, you guys. Check out this awesome handspun artyarn- Clouds.

This cold is kicking my ass. It took me forever to fall asleep last night because I'd start coughing and dude, I need the sleep. :( Also, I am a mucuous factory and I'm trying not to leave a trail of tissues everywhere. My mom is a saint for putting up with my whiny sick self.

Also, we're having lows of -25 this week. I'm torn between finally! and nooooo! because I do not yet have proper winter boots. I've been needing new boots for about 4 years now, and I meant to go looking Friday, but I did not have the energy. I'm tempted by the cheap ones at Old Navy, but... they're really cheap and winter boots in Winnipeg are SRS BZNS.

Hmm, I'm on the hunt for shoes too and the way things are going schedule-wise, the next time I've got time to go shopping might be in Winnipeg (so let me know if you find any great deals). If you do decide to buy "cheap" shoes, think about getting them half a size too big so that you can wear them with thick socks.

I was going to offer to go with you but you, me, and shoe shopping is a dangerous combination.

Come on, would it be the worst thing in the world if you came away with some sexy winter boots?

I refuse to believe there are "sexy" winter boots.

Well, I'll grant you that the sexy ones can be slightly less functional. So you keep a grubby old pair for shovelling snow and throwing in the car.

Even if you get something before I get back, I'm now very tempted to drag you along shopping with me and force you to try on some pretty shoes, even if neither of us has any intention of buying them.

I have my totally serviceable and functional Sorels for shoveling and -40. My cherished little brown leather boots are sadly no longer serviceable. Tempted to look for a similar kind, but one without the easily undone zipper on the front that would always betray me. :(
